From 10 to 12 June, LCM visited the renowned Global Petroleum Show in Calgary - the second biggest gathering of oil-related companies, service providers and manufacturers in the world. The show’s location spread over 650,000 square feet of exhibit space at Stampede Park. Approximately 2000 companies participated as exhibitors and thousands of visitors attended the event.
Simultaneously to the Global Petroleum Show, the Global Petroleum Career Exposition took place with hundreds of high profile employers and job searchers meeting at the Telus Convention Center.
Mr Dorrego: “It was an interesting if exhausting experience. On the evening of June 12, we were invited to a meeting and posterior dinner of the Canada-Arab Business Council. In my opinion, this was the most interesting event of the whole Calgary trip and the one that is going to give us a glimpse of what direction the Oil business is heading in Libya.
We had the chance of meeting fellow entrepreneurs from Libya who are deemed to play a highly significant role in the Oil Sector in their country: young, highly educated and ambitious professionals. Entrepreneurs like these, who go beyond the pure brokerage or meddling business and focus on actually doing the job themselves, are the future.”
